The actions by the senator forced the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders attending the burial to flee the scene.
[VIDEO] With Uhuru Out of the Country, Sonko Claims He is Acting President
Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has sensationally claimed that he is the acting president. The senator who was addressing mourners in Kathiani today had to be ushered away under security after he insulted a section of the crowd that booed him.
Mourners in Kathiani, Machakos County, listened in shock and disbelief as the outspoken city senator made the claim even though officially he is not the third in command, never mind the fact that deputy president William Ruto was in Baringo County today.
The remarks could land the Nairobi senator in trouble given that claiming the reins of power unconstitutionally could land one behind bars.
