US televangelist Kerry Shook in Kenya for leadership conference
Renowned US televangelist Kerry Shook has arrived in the country for a leadership conference.
Mr Shook, who is the founding pastor of the Woodlands Church and the Kerry Shook Ministries — a worldwide television ministry reaching millions — will be the main speaker at the Cultivate Leadership Conference, hosted by the International Christian Centre (ICC).
The three-day conference will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upperhill, Nairobi.
Shook, who is accompanied by wife Chris, said he is thrilled to be in Kenya.
“We are so excited to be here. We already feel the love and warmth of Kenya. What a joy to impact lives in this beautiful nation as we partner in what God is doing.”
Mr Philip Kitoto, the senior pastor at the International Christian Centre, said they were honoured to host the Shooks.
“This is a dream come true for us having pastors Kerry and Chris Shook speak [at the] Cultivate Leadership Conference. Kerry is known for his innovative teaching approach. He aspires to mentor and challenge leaders to a leadership style that is based on integrity,” said Mr Kitoto.
Mr Shook became a best-selling author when One Month to Live: 30 Days to a No-Regrets Life was released in 2008 challenging readers to “embrace life and whole-heartedly live it out with authenticity, honesty and integrity”.
His ministry has partnered with the church in a training initiative that seeks to impart leadership and life skills to young people beginning in Nairobi before rolling out countrywide.
