67 Kenyans are currently languishing in United States prisons over immigration related offences.
Latest data released by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detainees shows that 14 Kenyans are detained in Texas, seven in Georgia, six in Minnesota while Washington DC has four. The rest are incarcerated in other States.
Kenya has the 9th highest number of citizens detained in the US for flouting immigration regulations among African countries .
Cameroon has the highest number of inmates on immigration related charges (294) followed closely by Eritrea (257), Nigeria (250) and Somalia (205).
Others are Liberia (135), Guinea (113), Ghana (103), DRC (101), Gambia (83), and Ethiopia (69).
