The United Arab Emirates has temporarily suspended the issuance of visitor visas to nationals of 11 countries including Kenya. The Arab nation has taken the drastic measure to limit the spread of Covid19. During this time of the year, visitors from around the globe flock to the country to celebrate the festive season.
The suspension of visitor visas will affect many Kenyan who planned to visit the nation’s capital Dubai for the Christmas holiday. However, the decision will not affect people who already have visas to the country.
Countries on the UAE’s suspension list are; Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, Kenya and Afghanistan.
The gulf nation recently started issuing ‘golden visas’ to foreign PhD holders and other highly skilled professionals. The golden visas allow the professionals to stay in the country for up to 10years.
