Safari Boston Golf Club; A Leader in Expanding Golf’s Footprint
Safari Boston Golf Club and Friendz came together on Saturday May 14th in a show of solidarity, collaboration and partnership @the Safari Boston Golf Perfect Drive championship held at the renowned Brookline golf course intended to attract and serve more diaspora golfers & fans of the sport.
This month’s event saw cross-member Dan Kurema take home some shinny awards for both the closest to the pin & longest drive awards, & Francis Kibugi taking the month of May’s winner award. The players were excited as all them, their fans & friends followed live scoring via golf gamebook app on their phones similar to the Pro’s live leader board tracker, just like they show on Live television. Golf GameBook is the digital scorecard that helps golfers manage buddy games and tournaments of any size complete with sophisticated live scoring, gives you a gallery of fans every time you’re on the golf course and a diary to store your golf memories. It’s like a clubhouse in your pocket.
“The coming together was a true life changer, a clear choice towards a lasting health of the game of golf as a top priority for the two clubs.,” “The collaboration signifies our commitment to growing the sport and offering added value to diaspora golfers across Massachusetts.”
“Safari Boston Golf Club has quickly stepped in as a leader in expanding golf’s footprint beyond its traditional platform by providing a new direction to propel the game forward.” “The collaboration between our two clubs enhances possibilities between our brands, will help attract both new and avid golfers to underscore our effort to encourage more diaspora golfers to play more golf.”
Safari Boston Golf Club has been working on a number of initiatives aimed at bringing the game to young diaspora people and new golfers, as well as to tell the story of the positive impact of the sport. We focus on four major areas of developing the game – bringing the game to young people; improving player development on an adult level; accessibility to the game via monthly tournaments and retaining golfers; and sustainability. There are three things that are key to this discussion. First, we see the game as stable and healthy in the Safari Boston golf community. Secondly, we see a great deal of interest among diaspora individuals around the state, and importantly amongst young people, to pick up the game and get involved. And thirdly, we have confidence that we have a program today that can help us do that.”
We are proud to partner with many organizations, which collectively have years of experience supporting the game of golf. We are happy to lead or follow, where appropriate, because these institutions share our desire to nurture and develop this wonderful sport. Our commitment was established by our co-Founders, and remains central to our Tournament’s mission today.
“This month’s Safari Boston Golf Perfect Drive tournament is a recent example of organizations with shared enthusiasm and significant resources collaborating successfully. Our hope is that these and other efforts not yet realized will provide meaningful and long-term opportunities for the game’s further development.”
“We firmly believe that golf clubs face similar challenges, so sharing good practice, recognizing each other’s skills and working together jointly to promote sustainability and the fine work done by all of our members will undoubtedly lead to better playing & healthy competition on golf courses around Massachusetts. We are grateful to the Board of Directors of Safari Boston Golf Club (SBGC) for its progressive approach to this collaboration, and I personally look forward to working closely with other similar golf leagues in the years to come.”
“We are excited about deepening our relationship. We have always worked well together with other golf leagues, & this month’s championship represents our intent to explore how we can work to benefit both memberships, & both associations. We could not ask for a better partnership.”
