Rev Joshua Peterson Ordained to deaconhood by Bishop Rt Rev John Herzog at St Johns Anglican Church,Sutton Massachusetts

There was the joyful occasion of witnessing the ordination of Rev Joshua Peterson to the Diaconate (the office of deacon)on Sunday August 21 2016 at St John Anglican Church,Sutton Massachusetts.

The colorful ceremony was presided over by Bishop Rt. Rev. John A. Herzog(Presiding Bishop of the American Anglican Church, Scarborough New York,Diocese of Holy Innocents NY ,Bishop Peter Roberts & Canon Anthony (Diocese of Holy Innocents NY) and ArchDeacon,Ven Samuel Kimohu Vicar St Stephens Church Lowell,Rev.Peter Kiama (Vicar)St Johns Anglican Church,Sutton,Massachusetts. & Rev.Ekira and Rosemary Lay Leader at St Johns Anglican Church,Sutton,Massachusetts.

Rt. Rev. John A. Herzog(Presiding Bishop of the American Anglican Church, Scarborough New York,Diocese of Holy Innocents NY had some kind words to say about the new ordained deacon Rev Joshua Peterson was an deligent,above average student and he did exceptionally well with his grades and projects during his theological training.One of his Professors was very impressed by Rev Joshua ability to comprehend many courses offered in such a short time.” Rev Joshua Peterson will be attached to St John Anglican Church Sutton,Massachusetts

Arch deacon Ven Samuel Kimohu Vicar St Stephens Church Lowell welcomed the pastors in attendance congratulated Rev Joshua Peterson on his ordination as a deacon and also congratulated St Johns Anglican Church for taking the Best overall position in the Kenyan Anglican Music festival held earlier this year.

He said as we are in an election year let us not be divided by politics and take side as we are one in the body of Christ.

Joshua Peterson finished his theological studies early this year and made his perpetual Deacon vows on August 21 2016 at St John Anglican Church Sutton Massachusetts.

As evidenced by many and stated by the older brother on the ordination of his younger brother Rev Joshua Peterson”He has the tenacity which is to be admired Rev Joshua has the strength of purpose,clear determination,persistance and perseverance and he is hopeful Rev Joshua will be successful in his noble calling of servanthood.

It’s been a busy time for celebrations for him and his family,father and brother who were able to join him all the way from Kenya,He was surprised to have his early Sunday School teacher travel all the way from Kenya to witness this historic occassion.

Joshua Peterson comes from a family of priests.His Father is a priest,his brothers too have ministries in Kenya.

Speaking to the new deacon in town Rev Joshua Peterson had this to say “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 1 Timothy 1:12.
Thank you friends;clergy and all christians who joined hime to witness this ordination and in the journey of this noble course.

To my parents Rev & Mrs Peterson Mbuu, i cant thank you enough. Thanks also to my brother Rev Samuel for being with me this special day.

Special thanks to Rev Peter Kiama (vicar)and the St John Anglican Church Sutton Massachusetts for giving me a platform to serve in this church.

To my Bishop Rt Rev John Herzog,i am humbled for guiding me through this journey and making me to be part of and a servant in the Diocese of Holy Innocents.
Also to witness this auspicious occasion was graced by Bishop Peter and Canon Anthony from the Diocese of Holy Innocents New York.

After the ordination service there was ample of Kenyan Food for all who attended the Worship Service and gathered together for an after ordination fellowship at the Church basement hall.

May God grant all of His choicest blessings upon the ordained deacon and his family, and may the Holy Spirit lead him in the ministry God has entrusted him.
