Raila Hints at Quitting Active Politics
NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has hinted at quitting active politics should he lose fairly in the August 8 general elections.
Raila, who launched his fourth stab at the presidency after failing to win in 1997, 2007 and 2013, on Wednesday made indications that he will be hanging his political boots if he fails to clinch the presidential seat.
“In the past years, elections have been a sham in this country with losers being crowned. As NASA we shall not allow a stolen victory,” he said
“I am sure of an outright victory but in case I lose fairly to my opponents, I will have to do other things and options are wide and many,” he added, while speaking at a political rally at Gusii stadium on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, NASA principals Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Isaac Rutto. The principals exuded confidence that they will defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto in the August general elections.
