These songs have been composed, arranged and produced by the Kimatu family. They are reflective of our faith, its challenges and the ministry and mission God called us into.
My family loves to sing. Since 1992, we have sung together. We are each others’ inspiration. Some of the songs were composed in the early 1990’s but they are as fresh today as they were then. We are thankful to God, to whose Glory we sing, that we are able to put them on CD for wider circulation.
We, and especially my wife (of 28 years) and I, have been inspired by our Kenyan Gospel artists in the US, particularly those in the New England area. We admire what you do in worship to our Lord, and we are very proud of you. We have also been encouraged by members of the parishes that we served back in Kenya, particularly, Nyamachaki (Nyeri), Githaruru (Gatundu) and Gatanga (Thika). They encouraged us to produce a CD for some of the songs that we sang as we served them. We feel indebted to you.
Finally, we would like to thank St. Stephen’s church, under the good leadership of Ven. Samuel Kimuhu for establishing a Recording Studio where we were helped to record the CD. The investment is worthy all the prayers, money and time you put into it.
We also want to thank all our friends, mentors and supporters who stood with us during the production process of this CD. Our prayer and hope is that you will be blessed,
encouraged, comforted, challenged and inspired by the songs in this production.
To God be the Glory and Honor and Power and Praise forever and ever.
Psalm 23:1-3, and Psalm 145:1-3 are foundational passages for this production. Amen.
The Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Joseph Kimatu
