Popular Kikuyu Musician Mureithi John Walker Dies
Popular Kikuyu Musician Mureithi John Walker has died.
The news of his demise was announced by Inooro FM presenter Jeff Kuria who disclosed that the artist passed on Friday morning, March 12.
“Popular Mugithi musician Mureithi John Walker died this morning. Condolences to the family and his fans Rest In Peace,” he wrote.
The cause of his death was not established at the time of publishing.

Mureithi was well known for his popular songs Nyau iriaga mbia, Uhiki wi Murio and Andu Mathimwo.
He also had a huge following of more than 13,000 subscribers with some of his songs surpassing one million views on YouTube.
During the Covid-19 pandemic that saw limitation of gatherings, the musician sought to entertain his fans by hosting a live show on his Facebook.
The Kikuyu entertainment industry has seen the death of musicians over the past year.
Renowned Kikuyu Benga musician Jimmy Wayuni Githinji died on Tuesday, May 26 night in a road accident around Githurai area along the Thika Super-Highway.
The Benga artiste was driving with fellow musician Kibandi Jacksam when their vehicle was reportedly rammed into from the side.
On January 24, Mugithi musician Timothy Njuguna, also known as ‘Mighty Salim’, succumbed to kidney failure after years of battling diabetes.
He passed away just a day after hosting a memorial ceremony of his brother who died five years ago.
