Pauline Njoroge Compares Edwin Sifuna to Biblical David in Kenya’s Search for Change

Political communicator Pauline Njoroge has endorsed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, describing him as a key figure in Kenya’s quest for political and national renewal.

Speaking during a church service at Jesus Teaching Ministry Church in Donholm on Sunday, Pauline used the biblical story of David and King Saul to explain her view of Kenya’s current challenges and the need for new leadership. She cited concerns over healthcare, the management of public resources and the education system, saying these issues had contributed to public frustration and increased demands for change.

Drawing parallels between ancient Israel and modern Kenya, Pauline argued that the biblical account of David’s rise offered lessons for the country’s current political situation. She said periods of uncertainty could create opportunities for leaders capable of addressing public concerns and promoting accountability.

Pauline singled out Sifuna as one such leader, suggesting that his role in Kenya’s political future could extend beyond conventional politics. She urged congregants to pray for the senator and warned that those seeking to change the country’s direction could face resistance.

Her remarks come as Sifuna continues to feature prominently in political debates, particularly among opposition figures challenging the government’s policies, spending priorities and approach to governance. The endorsement also coincides with Njoroge’s growing involvement in organised opposition politics.

Previously known for her political communication work and digital mobilisation, she has recently assumed a leadership role within the Linda Mwananchi movement.

The movement appointed Pauline interim head of communication in its Presidential Campaign Secretariat, placing her in charge of shaping its public messaging and outreach strategy.

The appointment followed deliberations by the movement’s leadership as part of a broader reorganisation and rebranding effort. Njoroge brings experience in political communication, including involvement in major campaign operations and engagements with public institutions and regional organisations.
