My day around Kenya on a private jet with Dr Kirubi
If there is anything I will live to remember from my experience on board the Dassault Falcon 2000 LXS private business jet, it will probably be its excellent climb performance.
I will also recall the comfort it offers, and the overall luxurious feeling one gets once they get on board.
From the moment you get inside the cabin, there are plenty of features that you are bound to love. For instance, the cabin is very well lit. It is also very spacious and offers a lot of leg room; one can almost feel like they are seated in the lobby of a high-end hotel waiting to be served.
The theme colour of the particular Falcon LX that we flew in is also a winner.
Its leather seats come in light brown, which contrasts very well with the deep brown tables and the dark brown versus beige checked pillows placed on the seats. The seats are also easily convertible into queen sized beds.

The jet also boasts of being very comfortable, private and quiet.
Additionally, as Oliver Zuber the Company’s international Sales Manager for Africa says, the aircraft’s interior design can be customised to suit the owners’ needs and tastes.

The French aircraft is 66.33 ft long and measures 23.17 ft in height externally. Internally, the aircraft allows maximum headroom of 74 inches and a maximum width of 92 inches. As far as weight is concerned, its maximum takeoff is 19,413kgs while its maximum landing weight is 17,826kgs.
Falcon LX has also been hailed for being highly efficient in terms of fuel consumption when compared to its peers. It has also received praise for its ability to access short and challenging runways other jets run away from.
It is also extremely flexible in that it can do long miles. According to Zuber, the aircraft can fly from Nairobi to Singapore directly, from Nairobi to India and from Nairobi to China directly. It, however, cannot make a direct flight to New York as it has to make a stop in Dakar, Senegal.
– Reception –
Dassault Aviation has sold over 550 Falcon LX worldwide, with 70 being sold in Africa. However, none are owned by a Kenyan.
The French company is currently in Kenya on a promotional tour where they hope to make a sale from one of Kenya’s elite class.
“We have taken Brand Kenya’s Chairman Dr Chris Kirubi on a flight tour as he is among our target market. We hope to close a couple of deals with the country’s business class as they stand to benefit the most,” Zuber said.
