Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi signs energy and security agreements with Russia’s Vladimir Putin during first visit by a leader from the southern African state in two decades. Russia is expanding its influence in Africa with bilateral trade between the two countries standing at $115M (Ksh11.8B) in 2018. Mozambique is looking to develop natural gas reserves that could make the African state a major exporter of liquified natural gas.
