Mercy Masika Does It Again! Check Out The BIGGEST Winners From Groove Awards 2017
One of the biggest awards in the Kenyan music industry went down on Thursday, June 1st, as Kenyans also marked Madaraka Day celebrations countrywide.
The Groove Awards 2017 were held at the KICC in Nairobi where some of the biggest names in the showbiz and entertainment attended, with some walking away as big winners while others went home empty-handed.
The awards have however been marred with controversy after some gospel artistes termed the ceremony ‘hypocritical’ after they failed to be nominated, while others felt that it was not right to nominate secular artistes in various categories.
Some of these artistes include Willy Paul, Bahati and Tenda Wema hitmaker, Ringtone.

However, the organizers made sure that the awards ran smoothly, ignoring the critics as it held it’s award ceremony in pomp and colour.
Well, the winners in Groove Awards 2017 were surprising with Eko Dydda being crowned the Male Artiste Of The Year, a spot most male gospel artistes look forward to winning.
Mercy Masika seems to a favorite to many as she once again scooped the Female Artiste Of The Year Award, and Thitima by Kymo & Stigah grabbing the Song Of The Year.
Secular artiste Collo won Collabo Of The Year with Bazokizo, featuring Bruz Newton. Now, check out the other big winners below. Congratulations to them.
