Mary Wanja the painter without arms

 

 

 

Staying with the theme of Mothers’ day, we cross over to Nyeri where we meet Mary Wanja who after catching polio as a child, lost the use of her arms and legs but she has overcome disability and discrimination to become a successful painter. Wanja who has been painting with her mouth for more than 20 years, says she has overcome tremendous difficulties to fulfill a dream, and as NTV’s Rose Wangui reports, the courageous woman is an inspiration.
