Kenyan Journalist Seeks Help in Tracing Missing Daughter

The pain of searching for a lost family member is of course a traumatic experience such that one does not even have the right words to console a family desperately searching for a loved one.

This is the pain that the family of 22-year old Shirley Waigumo Wachira has been going through for the past eight days.

According to her father who is the SpecialProjects and Assignment Editor at the People Daily, Patrick Wachira, the family saw the young lady lastly on Thursday morning when she left home for Langata Hospital where she was doing her internship.

However, she did not return home as expected.

“She is about 5.3 ft tall, she is chocolate colour, she has long natural hair that hangs to the shoulders,” he father explained.

Shirley, a fresh graduate from Kenya Methodist University was last seen in town on Thursday.

“The last time she may have been in town was on Thursday because her friends have said they saw her,” Wachira narrated.

Since her disappearance, her phone has been off and her social media accounts have also not been updated according to her father.

The family has reported the matter to the police but so far, there is no information of her whereabouts.

“Police are trying to do their bit to track her phone but so far there is no further information about her,” Wachira said.

The family is now appealing for any information that could help locate her.

Her family can be reached on +254 722 562 419/ +254 722 562 557 or report to the nearest police station.
