Kenyan Adventurers Complete Epic 45,470km Road Trip from Nairobi to London

Kenyan adventurers Becky Kim and Bonnie Koko have completed a 45,470-kilometre road journey from Nairobi to London after travelling for 122 days across Africa and Europe.
The expedition began on 13 February 2026 and ended on 12 June, making it one of the longest overland journeys undertaken by Kenyans. Travelling in an INEOS Grenadier bearing the Kenyan flag, the pair crossed 60 countries and covered a wide range of terrain, including the Congo River basin, the Sahara Desert and regions beyond the Arctic Circle.
Bonnie Koko served as co-driver and navigator throughout the journey, helping guide the team across different landscapes and international borders. Becky Kim was the lead driver for the entire four-month expedition.
The pair were welcomed on arrival in London at the Kenya High Commission. Outgoing Deputy High Commissioner Dr Joseph Warui received them and joined them for photographs outside the mission alongside their vehicle. Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Maurice Makoloo, later met the travellers in recognition of their achievement.
Dr Warui described the expedition as a continental journey that reflected determination and commitment. He said the accomplishment demonstrated the ability of Kenyans to represent their country with pride while pursuing ambitious goals across international borders.
The journey has received widespread support from Kenyans both at home and abroad. Fariji Global praised the expedition as evidence of the scale of Kenyan ambition, while Joktan Kiprotich and Ndumba Wa Ndumba commended the pair for their preparation, resilience and conduct during the trip.
The achievement comes amid growing interest in long-distance road expeditions among Kenyan travellers. Earlier this year, Elly Kimutai Keter announced plans to drive from London to Eldoret, attracting significant attention online.
Becky Kim and Bonnie Koko’s journey has been recognised as a notable milestone in Kenyan adventure travel.
