Some of the world’s best runners won’t be able to attend races for the next month.
In light of the global outbreak of coronavirus, Kenya’s Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage has imposed an international travel ban for their athletes, meaning they won’t be able to take part in any races for the next month.

On Monday 9 March 2020, a letter was sent informing presidents of all Kenyan sporting organisations that their athletes will not be permitted to travel to international competitions. This is for the “safeguard of the public and the country at large”.
