Kenya Govt Bans importation of Gaming machines

The government has banned importation of gaming machines into the country with immediate effect. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i says agencies involved in importation of the machines such as KRA, Kenya Bureau of Standards and Kenya Ports of Authority have been made aware and should not allow the consignments to get into the country.

The C.S supervised destruction of the gaming machines in Nakuru which he says has contributed to school dropouts, social immorality and insecurity.

“None of the machines will leave the port of Mombasa or whichever entry point they are coming from. Things like these that hurt our country, hurt our children, and are things we need to phase out. You cannot make money at the expense of our children.” He says
