Embassy statement on terrorist attacks in Garissa

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in the United States released the following statement on the terrorist attacks on Garissa University College in Eastern Kenya:

The Embassy is deeply saddened by the horrific news that terrorists have killed and wounded scores of people at Garissa University College. First and foremost, our hearts, minds and prayers are with those whose loved ones have perished in this attack on an institution of higher learning. We also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in this attack.

While the government authorities investigate the attack on the ground and take the appropriate security measures, the Embassy welcomes the expression of support and continued partnership from the US government.

Kenya has a proud history and a bright future, which this attack will not dim.
