Kenya Embassy in Riyadh Rejects Reports of Saudi Ban on Kenyan Workers
The Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh has rejected reports that Saudi Arabia is preparing to bar Kenyan nationals from working in the Kingdom.
In a statement issued this week, the Embassy said it had received no official communication from Saudi authorities indicating that such a restriction was being considered. The mission said there was no evidence of a blanket ban on Kenyan workers and urged the public to disregard unverified reports circulating on social media. It warned that misinformation could cause unnecessary anxiety among migrant workers and their families, particularly the many Kenyans employed in Saudi Arabia’s domestic and service sectors.
The Embassy advised Kenyans seeking information on the issue to rely on established and credible sources rather than online speculation. It said any significant developments affecting Kenyans in Saudi Arabia would be communicated through official Embassy channels.
The mission also reaffirmed its engagement with Saudi institutions responsible for labour and migration policy. The Embassy’s advisory comes amid concerns over the spread of false information online about employment restrictions. Such reports can affect migrant workers and their families and undermine confidence in labour agreements between the two countries.
