It’s Petty, Vengeful to go After Uhuru’s Family,Martha Karua Tells Ruto
Narc Kenya leader Matha Karua has criticized President William Ruto for attacking former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family.
In a statement on Saturday, Karua said the onslaught on Uhuru’s family is subjecting him to harsh verbal abuse. Her statement comes after Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s security was withdrawn and later reinstated. On Friday, police officers allegedly raided Uhuru’s eldest son’s residence in Karen. The former president has urged the government to stop intimidating his family members and has vowed to protect them.
“It is petty, vengeful and unacceptable for President William Ruto’s regime to target Uhuru’s mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta and son Jomo, and to ceaselessly subject Uhuru the 4th president to unwarranted verbal diatribe. This must stop now,” Karua said.
The former President said he will take legal action against the raid. Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has advised Uhuru Kenyatta to stay away from politics and take a cue from his predecessors, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki, and enjoy a peaceful retirement. He has urged Uhuru to let go of any anger and bitterness and steer clear of politics.
The former president has denied accusations that he is funding Azimio’s anti-government protests, conveying that the allegations are due to his association with Azimio leader Raila Odinga. The Trade CS Moses Kuria has since taken to Twitter with a cryptic post that reads “To a Prince who got accustomed to being saluted by 5 Star Generals from the day they were born, absence of praise and worship from subservient subjects is tantamount to harassment and oppression.”
