studies find they are also less likely to be involved in their child’s education and
school than parents born in the United States (Thao, 2009).

Education
Dr. Muteti holds an Ed.D in Urban Education Leadership (University of Southern
California, USC) with expertise in Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) which encompasses a
core cluster of cognitive tools frequently applied to understand work processes, inform
the design of decision support systems, and develop ergonomically sound tools to
effectively support human performance. CTA techniques elicit from experts the
knowledge and processes experts use to perform complex tasks and analyze them to
derive protocols that can be used for various purposes to enhance output and drastically
reduce mistakes.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of
Nairobi and Masters in Education from National University, CA.
Experience
Dr. Muteti Mutie has more than 15 years experience in teaching both in K-12 and Higher
Education with experience as a Dean of Students in a public school and adjunct
professor in two local universities (California State Polytechnic University’s College of
Education and Integrative Studies, Pomona CA and National University’s Sanford
College of Education).
