President Uhuru met Modi last October, when he went for the India-Africa Summit. Modi’s visit is expected to enhance trade between the two countries and help reduce the huge trade imbalance.
India exports goods worth Sh116 billion against Kenya’s Sh4 billion. Indian imports include apparel, household goods and consumer goods, construction materials and machinery. On the other hand, India can benefit from Kenyan various farm produce imports if local production capacity is boosted.
