In pictures: Scots soldiers on exercise in Kenya

The regiment has been in Kenya carrying out training as part of Exercise Askari Storm

The Royal Regiment of Scotland (2SCOTS) battle group has been taking part in battlefield training in Kenya.

More than 900 soldiers faced gunfire, simulated riots, wildlife and 45C heat on Exercise Askari Storm.

The Edinburgh-based regiment pitched into a fictional battle between warring countries Jella and Sortu in the shadow of Mount Kenya.

Commanding Officer Graeme Wearmouth said: “It’s getting back to basics and resetting our DNA as infantrymen.”READ MORE
