Harrisburg police ID Kenyan driver killed on Cameron Street
Harrisburg police on Tuesday identified the driver of a vehicle who was killed on Cameron Street Sunday morning as Patrick Njoroge, 50, of Camp Hill.
Njoroge was driving in the 1600 block of Cameron Street about 6:35 a.m. when another vehicle collided with his vehicle. Police would not release directions of travel for either vehicle or any information about how the vehicles collided.
A friend of Njoroge’s reached Tuesday said he was told the other vehicle came into Njoroge’s lane and struck his vehicle.
The impact of the crash was severe enough that both drivers were initially trapped in their vehicles, police said. Emergency workers removed both drivers, who were transported to hospitals.
Njoroge died at a hospital. The other driver is expected to survive. Police did not release that driver’s age or name.
Njoroge was married and had a license to work as a practical nurse.
Police asked anyone who may have witnessed the vehicles or crash to call police at 717-558-6900 or submit anonymous information through the county’s CrimeWatch website.
