Former Bomachoge Borabu MP Joel Onyancha passes on after a short illness
The former legislator was watching proceedings of the Supreme Court on Wednesday, September 20 when he fell ill – He was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi for treatment but he passed on later – He unsuccessfully vied for the Bomachoge Borabu constituency seat in the August elections on a Jubilee Party ticket Former Bomachoge Borabu MP Joel Onyancha has passed on after a short illness, his younger brother Evans Onyancha has confirmed. The legislator passed on while receiving treatment at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi on Wednesday, September 20 where he had been rushed by his family.
Mr Onyancha unsuccessfully vied the Bomachoge Borabu parliamentary seat in the August 8 elections on a Jubilee ticket. He was born on January 1, 1960. Previously Onyancha was an assistant cabinet secretary in the ministry of National Heritage and culture and served in the same capacity in the Sports ministry.
Before plunging into politics, Onyancha was a a principal at Nyanchwa Mixed High School. The family suspects he suffered from heart attack. In the August elections, he lost the seat to Zadock Ogutu who vied as an independent candidate but he had challenged the MP’s win in court. https://www.tuko.co.ke/
