Cytonn Investments targets diaspora with US office
- Kenyans in the US and Canada account for half of the remittances sent every year. The firm, which recently raised Sh2 billion from foreign institutional and local investors, has said it will mainly invest in the real estate sector.
Private equity firm Cytonn Investments has opened an office in Maryland, US, targeting the diaspora.
The office is located at 6411 Ivy Lane in Greenbelt, Maryland, a suburb of the DC Metro area, and was opened by Njeru Githae, Kenya’s ambassador to the US and former Finance minister.
“With our accessible platform, we are here to help the diaspora investor identify, evaluate and invest in differentiated investment opportunities that speak to their investment needs,” Cytonn Diaspora business leader Hetal Nathwani said.

Cytonn and private equity firm Taaleritehdas are putting up Sh1 billion high-end residential homes on a five-acre parcel of land in the Karen suburb of Nairobi.
