Turkish president Erdogan in Kenya to conclude East Africa tour

The visit aims to strengthen Turkey’s relations in East Africa, especially in trade and security. Erdogan was accompanied by a strong delegation of Turkish businessmen

Just like in Uganda, the Kenya visit is expected to result in a number of investment and trade deals. Although trade relations between Ankara and Nairobi haven’t been long in existence, Turkish exports to Kenya in 2015 stand at an estimated 50 million dollars.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, overall bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Kenya has tripled over the last 10 years to 144 million USD last year.
