Tony Ngarí wins the SBGC Founders Championship

Tony Ngarí secured his first SBGC Tour victory of the 2025 year at the SBGC Founders Championship, in a thrilling Saturday 05/10/2025 -round duel showcasing his impressive form. Tony’s par on the 18th hole gave him the lead and he finished with a net score of 2-under 70 to win by one stroke. This victory marked Tony’s sixth career win including the USAFRICA championship and earned him 40 SBGC tour points.
The SBGC Founders Championship, held at the Green Hill Golf Course in Worcester MA, saw a strong field of golfers compete for the title. Prime scoring conditions returned to Green Hill Golf Course in the afternoon after the rainy, chilly and blustery windy conditions. Tony Ngarí, known for his consistency and grit, showcased his ability to perform under pressure, particularly in the final hours of the championship round.
William Emase, who was also in contention for the win, ultimately fell short, highlighting the competitive nature of the event. A tense back-nine duel between the two had an anticlimactic ending as Tony Ngarí made a no-pressure, 15 foot one putt par to win the tournament. Emase was solo second. Sam Thúgí, the defending champion closed with a net score 2 over to tie for seventh place.
SBGC tour now heads to the beloved Easton Country Club, Easton MA, on May 24th for the SBGC/BBGA/SNEGC Championship, the rescheduled season opener.
