Ruto arrives at Raila’s Karen residence

President William Ruto arrived at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Karen home, where a sombre mood engulfed just shortly after 10. am Wednesday morning.
Ruto accompanied by his Deputy Prof Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and others, were meeting the family led by widow Ida Odinga.
Raila’s elder brother Oburu Oginga, who was in Kisumu, was expected to arrive before the state and family addresses the public.
At the residence in Karen, mourners thronged in as they wailed, mourning a man many called Baba.
Carrying twigs, some of the supporters of Raila sang funeral dirges as emotions ran high.
“Baba is dead,” some would be heard shouting and crying as they rolled on the manicured grass compound.
Several ministers, governors, MPs, and ODM Party leaders were in the home by press time.
Ruto, who was accompanied by several government officials, arrived at 10:40am.
Hundreds of residents have also arrived at the home.
Ruto is expected to address the nation following the death of the former prime minister.
