Relief for motorists as fuel prices drop in latest EPRA review
Super petrol, diesel and kerosene prices went down by Ksh.4.20, Ksh.3.90 and Ksh.1.00 per litre, respectively, in the latest Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) review announced on Saturday.
The new prices taking effect February 15 through March 14 will see a litre of super petrol go for Ksh.178.28 in Nairobi, while Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Ksh.166.54 and Ksh.152.78 effective midnight for the next 30 days.
In Mombasa, the cost is Ksh.175.00, Ksh.163.26 and Ksh.149.49 for super petrol, diesel and kerosene, respectively.
In Nakuru, Super Petrol will go for Ksh.177.34, Diesel (Ksh.165.95), and Kerosene (Ksh.152.21).
In Kisumu, the costs for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will be Ksh.178.16, Ksh.166.76, and Ksh.153.03, respectively.
At the same time, customers in Kisumu will buy a litre of super petrol at Ksh.178.16, diesel at Ksh.166.76 and kerosene at Ksh.153.03.
“The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA Director-General Daniel Bargoria said.
