A postmortem conducted on Justus Mutumwa and Martin Mwau has revealed that the duo had multiple injuries on their bodies.
Speaking after the exercise on Wednesday, February 5, pathologist Richard Njoroge revealed that the bodies had decomposed with DNA samples taken to identify them.
The postmortem revealed that one of the abductees had injuries to the head and the abdominal area. There were also signs of struggles as the deceased attempted to fight off the killers.
“The first body was very decomposed. The main finding is that there were multiple abdominal, chest and head injuries. We also have defence injuries on the arm. It looks like there was a struggle,” the pathologist stated
On the other hand, the second victim died of strangulation. However, there were also injuries on the body.
“The second body was also very decomposed and the main finding was a scalp or head injuries. He also had an abdominal wall and thoracic injuries.” the pathologist added.
“There were also injuries to the neck and the strap muscles. We concluded that the cause of death of the second body was manual neck compression.”
Mutumwa and Mwau are among the men who went missing in Mlolongo in December 2024.
The bodies of the two emerged weeks after various attempts by the family, the Law Society of Kenya and human rights organisations.
