Muslim cleric pleads guilty to committing indecent act with 7 minors in Nyeri

Muslim cleric Eid Ali, has pleaded guilty to eight counts of committing indecent acts on seven children aged between 5 and 14 on diverse dates between 2022 and 2025.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Sandra Ogot of the Othaya Law Courts on Tuesday, the Sheikh also pleaded guilty to the charge of abusing the trust bestowed upon him by the minors, committing the offences inside the Othaya  Muslim mosque during Madrassa classes.

The court will hear facts of the case on Tuesday next week, before giving further directions.

“The accused person has pleaded guilty on all the counts presented before the court. The facts are not ready as indicated by the State and the same shall be read on the 10th of March 2026,” said the Magistrate.
