Mudavadi in Ethiopia for high-level talks on regional cooperation and Kenya–UK partnership

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening Kenya’s diplomatic and strategic partnerships.
The visit is expected to focus on boosting both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, with particular attention on regional peace, economic integration, and stability in the Horn of Africa.
During his stay, Mudavadi is scheduled to hold talks with Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gideon Timothewos. The meeting will centre on deepening ties between the two countries, advancing shared economic goals, and reinforcing collaboration on peace, security, and regional stability across East Africa and the wider continent.
Mudavadi will also meet the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Rt. Hon. Yvette Cooper, MP, to review progress under the Kenya–UK Strategic Partnership. Discussions are expected to explore expanded cooperation in trade and investment, climate action, innovation, security, and sustainable development.
Upon his arrival in Addis Ababa, the Prime Cabinet Secretary was received by Ambassador Galma M. Boru, Head of Mission at the Kenya Embassy, alongside Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Petronila Were and Minister Counsellor Kevin Thuo.
The visit underscores Kenya’s ongoing commitment to active diplomacy, regional integration, and collaborative solutions designed to promote peace, stability, and shared prosperity across Africa.
