Morara Kebaso’s Statement After Boda Boda Rider Drops Coffin at His Residence

Lawyer and activist Morara Kebaso has condemned an incident in which a boda boda rider delivered a coffin to his residence.
In an update on Monday, February 10, Kebaso shared the video which showed the rider arriving at his home in Ruiru and dropping off the coffin before leaving.
The activist has dismissed the incident as an act of political intimidation, further linking it to the issue of youth unemployment and political exploitation.
“The youth of Kenya have no decent employment. They have opted for boda boda to earn a living. Now you useless politicians are using them to deliver coffins instead of creating opportunities,” he said.
Kebaso further urged his political opponents to engage in constructive leadership rather than resorting to intimidation tactics.
“Allow my home and my place of work to be a place where I find peace. Deliver your promises to the people instead of delivering coffins to my home in Ruiru and my office in Utawala,” he added.
This comes barely a month after Kebaso accused state authorities of harassment and intimidation.
In a statement on Thursday, January 16, Kebaso detailed a series of events he alleges amount to persecution for his political stance and activism.
He revealed that he is under constant surveillance, further describing the toll the situation has taken on his personal life.
“I am followed, monitored, and surveilled by unknown people. I have lost my joy, my appetite, and friends who fear being pursued by the state. I continue to stand strong for my values—the values and principles of honesty, integrity, and humility. Through resilience and consistency, I hope to inspire young people to step up for leadership without fear. I believe it will change,” he said.
