Man identified in deadly deputy-involved shooting

he name of the man involved in an on-going narcotics case who was shot and killed by a deputy after investigators said he tried to run them over while serving a warrant has been released.

Investigators said Joel Gatu Muturi, 23, of Marietta, tried to use his car to run over members of the Cobb Marietta Smyrna Narcotics squad. It happened 6:50 p.m. Thursday at the Liberty Pointe Apartments located in the 700 block of Franklin Gateway SE.
