Machakos Senator Mutinda Admitted in ICU After Falling Ill at Kilimani Apartment in Company of Woman

Machakos Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka is presently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Nairobi Hospital.

Mutinda was rushed to the facility on Thursday evening after he fell ill at an apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate.

Reports indicate the Senator had checked in at the apartment along Elgeyo Marakwet Road in Kilimani earlier in the day in the company of a woman named Esther Muli, a resident of Wote town in Makueni.

Mutinda’s wife told police that an employee at the Senator’s office phoned her at around 3:00 am to inform her that her husband had been admitted to the hospital.

“She went to the said Hospital accompanied by other family members among them her co-wife where she established that the Senator was brought by paramedics after falling sick while in an apartment along Elgeyo Marakwet Road within Kilimani,” reads part of the police report.

When police visited the scene, they found Esther who explained that she was with Senator Mutinda in the apartment when he suddenly complained of severe headache and asked her to find some paracetamols.

She said his condition worsened forcing her to inform the apartment’s management who called for an ambulance and rushed the politician to the Nairobi Hospital.

The woman was taken to Kilimani police station for questioning by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

“The scene was processed by crime scene support services and evidence found at the scene forwarded to the Government analyst for analysis since most of them are perishable,” adds the police report.
