Kenyan Teacher Wins 2025 African Union Continental Best Teacher Award

A Kenyan teacher has won the prestigious 2025 African Union Continental Best Teacher Award.
In a statement on October 3, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced that Jepkosgei Chemoiwa, a Physics and Mathematics teacher at Emining Boys High School in Baringo County, was named the recipient of the 2025 African Union Continental Best Teacher Award.
“On behalf of the Teachers Service Commission and the entire education fraternity in Kenya, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Jepkosgei Chemoiwa, a distinguished teacher of Physics and Mathematics at Emining Boys High School, Baringo County, for being honored with the 2025 African Union Continental Best Teacher Award,” read part of the statement.
The award, presented by the African Union in collaboration with UNESCO’s International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa, recognises teachers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to innovation, quality education, and transformative teaching practices.
