Kenyan Nurse Arrested in Florida Over Sexual Assault of Hospital Patient

A Kenyan nurse and social media personality, Abedinecho Kyalo Katue, 46, was arrested in Orlando, Florida, on 4 March 2026 on charges of sexually assaulting a hospital patient.
He is being held at Orange County Jail without bond. Authorities allege that the alleged assault occurred in January 2025 at AdventHealth Orlando, where Katue worked as a “floater” nurse. The victim, an amputee confined to her hospital bed, reported that Katue entered her room while she was using a bedpan, touched her inappropriately, and attempted to normalise the behaviour.
She also claimed that he administered morphine through her IV without her consent, apparently to prevent her from speaking out. Following the complaint, the hospital sent Katue home, but he remained at large for nearly a year. Police apprehended him after identifying his vehicle on Orange Blossom Trail and confirming an active warrant.
Katue faces two felony counts: sexual battery of a physically incapacitated victim and lewd or lascivious molestation of a disabled adult. The case is being heard in the Ninth Circuit Court of Orange County, and if convicted, he could face substantial penalties.
AdventHealth has declined to comment, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
