Kenyan Man Arrested in Australia Over Fellow Countryman’s Death: Community in Shock

A dramatic scene unfolded at Adelaide Airport in Australia on Monday as 22-year-old Kenyan Allan Kiplimo was escorted by police officers in handcuffs during a perp walk shortly after landing.

Kiplimo is accused of unaliving another Kenyan, Mike Leriano, 24, in Adelaide last week, in a case that has shocked many both in Australia and back in Kenya.

Authorities launched an intense manhunt following the incident before eventually tracking Kiplimo across the country to Perth, nearly 2,700 kilometers away. Police arrested him there and later flew him back to Adelaide, where he is expected to face charges.

The dramatic airport escort drew attention from onlookers as officers quickly moved him through the terminal under tight security.

The tragic case has sparked conversations within the Kenyan community abroad, with many struggling to understand what may have led to the fatal confrontation.

Police say investigations are still ongoing as they work to piece together the events that led to the death of the 24-year-old.
