Thieves on Wednesday released bees on police who had gone to arrest them at Webuye Pan-Paper Mill in Kenya.
More than 10 thieves were trying to steal scrap metal and had carried the bees in a sack.
They released the swarm and fled into the forest.
The police were forced to retreat. One officer was seriously stung and treated at Webuye District Hospital. Police are still searching for the thieves.
