Juja Family Finds Closure After Relative’s Body Is Repatriated From Dubai
The body of Kepha Ngugi, who died in Dubai three months after relocating for work, has finally been repatriated to Kenya for burial, bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty for his family in Juja, Kiambu County.
Ngugi’s sudden death left his wife and relatives devastated and struggling with the financial burden of transporting his remains. With limited resources, they turned to public appeals for assistance, hoping to raise the necessary funds. For weeks, Ngugi’s body remained abroad as contributions slowly arrived, prolonging the family’s grief.
The situation changed when Aloise Kinyanjui, a parliamentary aspirant in Juja and brother to former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, came across the family’s appeal online. Kinyanjui quickly stepped in, offering financial support and facilitating the repatriation process. Within days, Ngugi’s remains were flown back to Kenya, ending the prolonged uncertainty.
The intervention brought significant relief to Ngugi’s widow, who had endured weeks of emotional strain. For many in the family and community, Kinyanjui’s assistance has been seen as a much-needed act of compassion.
In Weteithie village, where Ngugi’s family resides, the community has rallied together to support the grieving family, as preparations for the burial proceed.
