Israel Launches Master’s Scholarship Opportunity for Kenyan Students

Israel has launched a new academic initiative offering scholarships to Kenyan students for postgraduate studies in sustainable development and community leadership.

The Israeli mission in Nairobi announced on Saturday, 14 March, that applications are now open for a Master’s degree in African Sustainable Communities at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The programme targets students from across the world, with a particular focus on African candidates, and aims to address challenges in sustainability, social development, and community empowerment.

The course combines classroom learning with practical experience. Students will spend their first year at Ben-Gurion University in Israel, followed by fieldwork or a community-based project in Africa. This structure is designed to ensure that academic knowledge is applied to real-world situations, especially those affecting African communities.

Scholarships, including both full and partial funding, are available to successful applicants. The Israeli mission has encouraged Kenyan universities, development organisations, and professionals in sustainability and public policy to share information about the programme, which is suited for individuals pursuing careers in development, governance, and community leadership.

Applications close on 1 May 2026. Prospective students can access application forms and further details through the university’s official website.
