Hostage-taking in Mali hotel ‘over’: Malian military source

Bamako (AFP) – A hostage siege at a luxury hotel in Mali’s capital that left at least 18 people dead on Friday was declared “over” after several hours, a Malian military source told AFP.

“The hostage-taking is over. We are in the process of securing the hotel,” the source said on condition of anonymity, as civil protection officers removed the victims from Bamako’s Radisson Blu in orange body bags.
