Google Unveils First African Developers Space

Google has unveiled the first African Developer Space in Lagos, Nigeria, open for free to startups, developers, and entrepreneurs.

Besides, the space houses the Google Launchpad Accelerator Africa. Google intends to hold developer meetups, training, and host events that promote the developer ecosystem.

Additionally, it will empower communities with digital skills training to play a part in Africa’s tech revolution. In this case, entrepreneurs and investors can connect and collaborate with developers.

In a statement, Google says the new facility is part of its long term commitment to train 100,000 developers across Africa. Already, the Launchpad Accelerator Africa has worked with 47 startups since inception in 2018.
