Meet Nathaniel Odongo, a man who repeated nearly every class while growing up in Kenya but refused to let setbacks define his future. He began his educational journey in 2000, starting Class 1 with high hopes.
However, the path was not smooth. Nathaniel repeated Class 3 twice, Class 4 twice, and Class 5 twice. Many would have given up by then, but not him.
After dropping out of school in Form 2, Nathaniel made a bold decision to return and repeat Class 7 in 2012. Determined to finish what he started, he enrolled at Orero High School from 2014 to 2017. Life still wasn’t easy.
During his university years, he faced suspension from Masinde Muliro University for two academic years between 2019 and 2021. That could have ended his dreams, but his spirit remained unbroken.
Today, Nathaniel Odongo is celebrating a milestone many thought impossible: graduating from one of Norway’s most prestigious universities the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).
From a boy who struggled in school to a university graduate abroad, his story is a powerful reminder that failure is never final.
