Disown ‘sponsors’, schoolgirls in Kenya told
NAIROBI: Schoolgirls have been asked to dissociate from earlier relationships and concentrate in Education. Women right defender Janet Koech called on the school girls in secondary and primary school to disown sponsors relationships who flash them with money and presents to fall prey to sexual activities. “It is unfortunate our young school girls have been ruined by emergence of ‘sponsors’ who cheat our girls with goodies to engage in sexual activities. I plead to our school girls to shun sexual activities until they graduate and ready for marriage,” Mrs Koech said. Speaking on Sunday during the annual mother’s day celebration at Turbo girls’ high school in Uasin Gishu County, Mrs Koech urged parents and teachers to remain strict with their children and ensure they instil discipline to them.
