Autopsy Reveals the Cause of Death of Keroche Breweries Director Tecra Muigai
Keroche Breweries Innovations and Strategy Director Tecra Muigai died from injuries sustained on her left side of the brain, autopsy shows.
In an autopsy report, Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor said the injuries on the deceased’s head were consistent with her reported fall down the stairs at a holiday home in Lamu.
Dr. Oduor carried out the postmortem examination at Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi on Tuesday, May 12th.
Tecra’s boyfriend Omar Lali, who was with her in the house on the night of the incident, has since been arrested as police continue to investigate the events leading to her death.
Detectives arrested him after he allegedly gave two conflicting accounts of the incident, according to reports. Daily Nation reported that he first told investigators that Tecra tumbled down the stairs but later changed his statement to say she slipped in the bathroom.
The two accounts were inconsistent with the version given by responders who rushed Tecra to hospital. A friend of Tecra said she found her lying unconscious with blood was oozing from her mouth while Lali was dead asleep.
She was first taken to local health facilities before her mother sent a private helicopter to pick her from Manda Airport and airlift her to Nairobi for specialized treatment.
Sadly, Tecra succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital on Saturday, May 2nd, four days after the incident.
A Lamu court on May 5th allowed police to detain Lali for 21 days pending completion of investigations.
Tecra will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at her family’s farm in Naivasha on an undisclosed date.
She was the last-born daughter of Keroche Breweries proprietor Joseph Karanja (Chairman) and his wife Tabitha Karanja (CEO).
