An Appeal for Hope and Support to Help Rose Adhiambo Rebuild Her Family
Rose Adhiambo Gundi, a grieving widow and devoted mother of eight, is facing overwhelming hardship after the sudden death of her husband, Thomas Gundi Rawuoche, in September 2023. Since then, Rose has struggled alone to provide for her family, battling joblessness, hunger, flooding, illness, and the constant burden of school fees.
Her children’s education is hanging by a thread. The eldest, Collins, dropped out after Class 8 and now hustles with tile work. Everline reached Form 4 and began polytechnic, but had to quit due to lack of funds. George, through immense effort, made it to university where he studied Electrical Engineering, funding himself with casual labor. He dreams of furthering his studies, but has no means. James, like others, dropped out at Class 8 and now survives on small, unreliable farm jobs.
The younger children—Chrisphine (Form 4), Gloria (Form 2), Viron (Grade 9), and Kennedy (Grade 5)—remain in school, but are constantly sent home for fees. The family lives in a flooded house due to the rains, battling cold and sickness without food or basic necessities.
Rose’s message is simple but urgent: she needs help. She’s appealing for support—be it food, school fees, clothing, or capital to start a small business. Her pain is real, her strength admirable, and her need immediate.
